Wonder Woman breaks box office records on its opening weekend by earning a whopping $100 million in the U.S. and $223 million according to Variety.
This phenomenal opening grants director Patty Jenkins as the highest-grossing opening weekend for a female director in the U.S. knocking down Sam Taylor-Johnson’s Fifty Shades of Grey. The movie also holds a “fresh” 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes compared to the other “DC Extended Universe” films like the polarizing Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (27%) and almost equally received Suicide Squad (25%) which also helped the movie earn gross so much.
The movie has earned back its $149 million dollar budget and is predicted to have a just as successful 2nd weekend.
Not only is the critic reception majorly positive but also audiences love including celebrities. Dwayne Johnson most notably is very proud of his “homegirl”.

Dwayne is also joining the “DC Extended Universe” in 2019 for Shazam! as he has been cast as the main villain Black Adam. Thor himself Chris Hemsworth replied to Gal Gadot’s comment on Wonder Woman beating Thor in a fight.
I think she’d kick Thor’s a**

Gal Gadot, of course, had a quirky response:
